Customer Review: Irrational non-linear, psychedelic, artful and philosophical
This masterful video captures the very essence of the philosophical motivational yearnings of “the master”. Proving he is not crazy, but rather a futurist in thought, mind and expression.
Narrated by Orsen Wells this video is a must see because it so superbly interweaves spacial dimensions of time so as to be “eye candy” for the senses. Shot in black and white and color, using trick photography, illusions, foolery and showmanship. Dali himself put his own stamp on this production and it is a true shame that this video is not currently in release.
The message of this film so magically portrays the essence of the man in a conversational, narrated and acted drama which unfolds the very intricate and precise methodology of this great visionary’s ideas and attitudes on life.
This stunning creation is a movie within a movie, within a movie within a movie… Surely a reality check and a provocative stimulant for fully absorbing the cosmic consciousness of the universe.
You see Dali creating and moving throughout the film, shot at his own home in the Mediterranean. Dali creates on film like no other and the editing is so masterful and intentional with its flashing effects and enlightening juxtaposing messages. Even my friend Charles who has seen Perfomance as many times as me (upwards of 50 times!), who can site lines that have been cut since its original realease, would have to agree that this film on Dali is the fullest expression of the greatest expressionaist and communicator of the 20th century. Dali leaves his mark not only in history but in the fabric of time itself, a legacy for the ages!
